AMFF Kick-Off Event at Bullock Was Great Success

Mariachi Corbetas

Thanks to all who attended the Les Blank Retrospective and first Austin Music Film Festival event.

Special thank you to our partner and sponsor, the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.

Live music by Blues band Trimmed and Burning brought their bad-ass blues licks and kicked off Friday night's Blues screenings and Mariachi Corbetas launched Sunday night's Latino screenings with a kicking Mariachi performance featuring the number one accordion player in Texas, 18 year-old Anthony Ortiz, Jr.

Muchas gracias to documentary filmmaker extraordinaire Les Blank who shared his highly lauded historical Texas Blues and Norteno films at the Les Blank Retrospective regional premier in Austin, Texas.

We look forward to working with Les Blank in the future.

Additionally, a partnership with the Austin Blues Society has been formed. Look for partnered music events with AMFF and the ABS soon. Please check back here for future Austin Music Film Festival events.
